Who are we?

Wanderlust Life is a jewellery retailer based in the UK with a registered address of 14 Caen Street, Braunton, EX33 1AA. This privacy policy covers the use of data by Wanderlust Life. For legal purposes, Wanderlust Life is known as the 'data controller'.

What we collect

When you place an order online or by phone
We will gather all the information we need to process your order. (For example: name, email, postal address, billing address, card number or other payment method details, contact phone number. When you first place an order online you will also be given the option to opt-in for email marketing. We will not send you email marketing unless you tick the box to ask us to, or unless you have asked us to previously. You can opt out of email marketing at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email, or by contacting customer services.

As with all sensitive data we keep all these details securely in our systems. The exception is payment details which are sent to and managed securely by our payment service provider. We do not keep a record of your credit card, for example, apart from the card type and last four digits for reference.

When you opt in to receive marketing communications from us
There are several ways you might do this, for example:

• using an online form;
• giving your details to the Wanderlust Life team in our Shop / Studio and explicitly telling them you want to receive emails;
• when entering a competition and asking us to send you emails.

When you make a transaction in our shop / studio
When you shop in our Shop / Studio you might be asked for your email address. You are not obliged to give this information and we will never send you an email promotion unless you have opted in to receive emails.

Using cookies & pixels on our website

We partner with Microsoft Clarity and Microsoft Advertising to capture how you use and interact with our website through behavioral metrics, heatmaps, and session replay to improve and market our products/services. Website usage data is captured using first and third-party cookies and other tracking technologies to determine the popularity of products/services and online activity. We use a facebook pixel which enables us to advertise to you on facebook & instagram. What we do with the information we gather?

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

When you place an order online or by phone – fulfilling your order
Primarily we use the data you provide to us to fulfil our contract with you: we use your delivery address to know where to send your order; we use your email address to update you about your order status and telephone number for our registered courier service UPS. We can only arrange your delivery with a contact number provided. This is a mandatory requirement from our shipping service. 

When you place an order online or by phone or make a transaction in store – marketing
For marketing purposes we also use transaction data to analyse customer behaviour and to ensure we send you the most appropriate marketing (we don’t send you emails unless you ask us to). For example,

• if you buy a certain product we might send you information relating to other products based on your purchase history;
• if we want to know how many customers live in a certain area, we might generate a report to find that out.
• The legal basis we use for processing data for marketing purposes is called 'legitimate interest'.

 

When you opt in to receive marketing from us
We use any data you provide to us (at any time) as way to send you the most relevant marketing. For example:

• if you have provided us with your date of birth we might send you a birthday offer;
• if you have entered a competition we might send you marketing relating to that product range;
• if you have given us an address in a certain area we might let you know about a new store or stockist opening.

If you have not made a transaction with us, but you have opted in to receive marketing by email or any other method the legal basis for processing is called 'consent'.

Wanderlust Life are required under UK tax law to keep your basic personal data (name, address, contact details) for a minimum of 6 years. After this point your information will be kept until you notify Wanderlust Life otherwise; you have the right to be forgotten for detail on how to do this see (hyperlink to Your rights relating to personal data) if you would like your data to be destroyed.

How to unsubscribe from our mailing lists?

From time to time we may contact you by email or post with information about our latest products, news, promotional offers and events.

When you first sign up for emails we will send you a welcome email to make sure you want to receive emails from us. If you do not want to receive our offers and promotions by email you can unsubscribe by clicking the unsubscribe button on any of our promotional emails or by emailing info@wanderlustlife.co.uk.

If you do not want to receive our offers and promotions by post you can unsubscribe by changing your contact preferences on your account page or by emailing info@wanderlustlife.co.uk.

*Please note that it can take up to 7 days to fully remove you from our mailing list, so you may continue to receive emails whilst your request is being processed. Any promotional printed material is printed in advance so you may also receive a mailing whilst your unsubscription is being processed. **Please note that service emails relating to your account and order cannot be unsubscribed from and will continue to be sent. 

Sharing your data

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen.

We do pass some data to third parties in order for them to fulfil services for us, but they can only use this data to fulfil those services for us and cannot pass it on, use it to fulfil services for other companies; or use it for their own interests. The types of companies we use are, for example:

• courier companies (to send orders);
• marketing agencies (to send out emails & direct mail);
• data analysis companies (to provide us with tools to analyse our data);

Your rights relating to personal data

Under certain circumstances, you have rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data. These include the right to

• access your personal data (to ask us what information we hold about you).
• ask for your data to be deleted or corrected.
• ask us to stop processing your data.
• to stop receiving marketing from us.

Wanderlust Life try to respond to all legitimate requests within one month. Occasionally it may take us longer than a month if your request is particularly complex, or you have made several requests. In this case, we will notify you and keep you updated.
